EVENTS 09/10
The school throughout the year offers lots of performance opportunities.
We take part in Chesham, Mid Bucks and Sandy Dance festivals. Children who wish to be entered in these are required to see their subject teacher for more information. However children can do a solo,duet, trio or group at one or all of these over the year and sometimes at each festival mentioned.
A selection of students have performed a selection of work in Kingsbury Square, Aylesburyover various dates, with new performances coming up over the next few months. They really got the crowd going and were a huge success so please find time and come and support.
We also have Parents Days. These are generally held at the end of term and this is a chance for parents and family to come along and watch the classes take place. We think these days are important as you are able to see what actually happens in the classroom situation and see the individual development your child etc have made.
We normally have a Christmas Performance and a Summer Performance which involves the whole school and links with The Musical Kidz Company. All family and friends are always welcome at these events in order to give the children a real live audience to perform in front of.
In collaboration with The Musical Kidz Company all students are encouraged to attend the Half Term Workshop weeks that are on offer. These tend to look at different styles of dance aswell as giving those an opportunity who may have never done dance before. The age groups are divided for some classes but also incorporates group numbers aswell. These help build confidence, allows all participants to make new friends but also gives the children another high quality show to be a part of at the end of the weeks work. These are a great value for money and normally last 10am-5pm each day. Keep an eye out for the MAY Workshop week and it's theme which will be announced soon!
Over the summer we linked again with Musical Kidz for a Summer Project. This year it was HONK! which is based around the story of The Ugly Duckling. It was jam packed full of song and dance and was ideal for those who had a general interest in the theatre and production or for those who simply wanted to have fun in the holidays. It was a great success and the reviews and feedback have been amazing. If you missed out this summer why not join us this year for "13" - The Musical"?!
